The Fox-Gold Reef occurrence is located 1.5 kilometres southwest of Homestake Creek, 30.5 kilometres north-northwest of Alice Arm.

The occurrence is hosted in a hydrothermally altered unit of plagioclase-hornblende porphyritic andesite and minor interbedded black siltstone/argillite, informally called the "Copper Belt", of the Jurassic Hazelton Group. The porphyry is thought to be the intrusive equivalent of the felsic Mount Dilworth Formation (Hazelton Group).

The occurrence is comprised of several veins exposed in two trenches. The number 1 trench exposes a 0.35 metre wide vein striking 080 degrees and dipping 68 degrees north. The vein contains pyrite, minor chalcopyrite and trace galena, sphalerite and electrum in a gangue of quartz and pods of calcite. The vein is hosted in a silicified and sericitized porphyritic andesite. A one metre channel sample from the trench taken across a section of vein and wallrock assayed 21.5 grams per tonne gold and 10 grams per tonne silver (Property File - Cambria Resources Prospectus, page 14).

The number 2 trench, 230 metres to the southeast, exposes a 0.30 metre wide vein striking 115 degrees and dipping 32 degrees south in relatively unaltered porphyritic andesite. The vein is mineralized with pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite in a gangue of quartz, calcite and minor barite. A 1.5 metre channel sample across the vein and wallrock assayed 2.33 grams per tonne gold and 1.8 grams per tonne silver (Property File - Cambria Resources Prospectus, page 14).

An adit 100 metres north of the number 1 trench has exposed a quartz vein containing minor galena, pyrite and trace tetrahedrite.

In 2003, Bravo Venture Group Inc. acquired the Homestake Ridge (103P 216) and focused its drill program primarily on structurally controlled gold mineralization in the Goldslide pluton rather than exploring for a precious metal enriched volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit as Teck Cominco Ltd. had. Six holes tested a zone of quartz-pyrite stockwork veining and breccia at the contact of the feldspar-hornblende porphyry stock. Bravo drilled five additional holes to test four other targets: the rhyolite–argillite contact formerly explored by Teck Cominco, the Silver Crown zone (103P 082), the Fox-Gold Reef zone (103P 093, 213), and the Dilly vein. No significant assays resulted.

During the 2004 field season, Bravo focused on delineating the strike potential of the main Homestake shear. Ten line-kilometres of cut grid were established over the main and adjacent structures. Soil sampling and ground magnetic geophysics were conducted over the grid. Several zones of interest were identified mapped and sampled. In 2005, Bravo returned to the Homestake Ridge gold prospect (103P 216) to complete 1643 metres of drilling in 11 holes, intersecting significant gold-silver values.

To date (ca. 2010), Bravo Gold Corp. completed 18 drillholes in five exploration targets on the Fox Reef property, including several areas identified using airborne geophysics in 2009. Drilling intersected potentially economic mineralization at relatively shallow depths. Highlights include (reported as a downhole thickness): 4.0 metres averaging 2.7 grams per tonne gold and 2.2 grams per tonne silver in hole HR10-184; 3.0 metres averaging 3.4 grams per tonne gold and 0.9 gram per tonne silver, including 1.0 metre averaging 8.0 grams per tonne gold and 1.7 grams per tonne silver in hole HR10-189. Mineralization at Fox Reef has been drilled in two separate areas approximately 400 metres apart, which are located 700 metres to the southwest of the Homestake silver zone (103P 216) (Press Release – Bravo Gold Corp., September 23, 2010).

During 2017 through 2019, Auryn Resources Inc. completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling, airborne and ground geophysical surveys and re-logging of historical drill cores.

Please refer to Homestake (103P 216) for further details of the larger property and area.
